Suggestions for The Critic Website
Eric
1. Ambient streaming music to soothe listeners while they read articles. Well, I suppose they could just install an add-on to their browser...
2. Interactive puzzles for the Fun (or entertainment section). Get a programming student to write some code.
3. A section for podcasts is more than necessary. We could also provide video supplements to some of the articles.
4. Link to or include a section for other student works, such as the uphill review. Poems and such from the community really look good coming from a campus.
5. List the Critic news team on the front page, including the web editor and fun page coordinator, yours truly. Maybe a contact link for people to submit things.
6. Get rid of all that damn latin.
7. Don't let Brian Howe touch my privates.
8. Use posted things in the opinion page of the paper if they are good.
9. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNN Williams.
-----------------------
Brian
1. Put the first paragraph of a story in the paper critic and say "if you want to read the rest of this, go to the critic online. NY Times style.
2. Interactive sports: scoreboard of teams around the area? Or just the scores for the most recent games. Link to ESPN?
3. Podcasts: "package" to a story. Explain stories on video or podcast.
4. Put the website all over the paper like sauerkraut on a hotdog.
5. Use more colors than just green and white so readers don't leave and go back to foxnews.com.

Online Awesome
CNN.com
Most impressive is the sheer amount of video on the site. Most stories have video, and a lot of them have written articles as well. Little icons next to the headlines tell you what kind of media the story is in.
Also, about three good scrolls get you to the bottom of most pages, rather than having enormously long pages.
The site is dated and timed for when it's updated, which lets readers know how current it is.
I'm especially impressed with the categories and how you can click on one if you want to see all stories from that category.
For those interested in the stock market, there's a constantly updated market ticker.
There are also nice features such as searching the site and typing in your zip code for weather information.
Readers can also enjoy podcasts and getting notifications in their email.
